The Sampan Bar is built out of a converted boat and is a unique feature of Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort. Originally a Vietnamese refugee vessel that landed on the shore near the Hotel in May 1980, the boat was purchased by the Hotel and the money was donated to the United Nations Vietnamese Refugee Fund. The salvaged boat was permanently anchored on the beachfront and converted into a bar. It is now a place where guests can enjoy a wide variety of drinks and cocktails while admiring the views of the South China Sea.
